Welcome to the 2018 AHYAA softball season.  AHYAA softball is organized into four house leagues and a travel program.  All of our leagues emphasize having fun while learning softball fundamentals.  To register for softball please click here, or click on the "Online Registration" tab under the Softball menu on the main AHYAA page.

Important Dates

 

Coach Pitch

Registration:               Open

Evaluations:                N/A (there are no evaluations for the Coach Pitch League)

Team Formation:         2018 managers meeting is scheduled for April TBD

Practices:                     begin in late April (or as soon as teams are formed)

Games:                        mid-May through the end of June

Playoffs:                       N/A (there are no playoffs in the Coach Pitch League)

Juniors/Majors/Varsity

Registration:                Open, but may be subject to waitlist

Evaluations:                TBD

Team Formation/Draft: Juniors March 19; 7:00PM

                                                Majors 6:30PM and Varsity 8PM both on March 20

Managers Meetings & Equipment Pickup:

                                                Juniors 8PM & Majors 6:30PM both on April 4

                                  Varsity 7:30 PM on April 5

Mandatory Managers & Coaches Clinics to be held on April 8, time and location TBD

Practices:                     begin in early April 7

Games:                        May 1 through the end of June (season ends prior to July 4th)

Playoffs:                       end of June

Redbirds Travel Program

Tryouts:                       8u/10u/12u/14u house all-star teams - late April

                                   8u, 10u, 11u, 12u, 14u, and 16u full-time teams (as applicable) – July

Practices:                     House all-star once a week, full time travel varies depending on team

Games:                        8u/10u/12u/14u house all-star games to be scheduled varies by manager, approximately one every other                                     week during house season with – tournaments are held in July

                                   10u, 11u, 12u, 14u, and 16u full-time teams – NSFPL season runs from May through June with no                                                 playoffs; tournament schedules vary, but generally, run from Spring through Fall

Coach Pitch League

The Coach Pitch League is for girls in K, 1st and 2nd grade.  This is a coach-pitch league with teams that are formed by the league.

Juniors League

The Juniors League is for girls in 3rd and 4th grade.  This is a player-pitch league with teams that are formed by the league.

Majors League

The Majors League is for girls in 5th and 6th grade.  This is a player-pitch league with teams that are formed via a draft.

The Varsity League is for girls in 7th and 8th grade.  This is a player-pitch league with teams that are formed via a draft.

Redbirds - KR Travel Program

In 2018 the Redbirds travel program will field house all-star teams for girls at the 8u/10u/12u/14u levels, and full-time teams for girls at the 8u/10u/11u/12u/14u/16u levels.  To be eligible for a given team the player must be the appropriate age as of January 1 of the year in question.  For example, to play on a 2018 10u team, the player must be no older than 10 as of January 1, 2018.  Tryouts will be held for teams at all levels, and the number of teams fielded will be determined based on turnout.
