JUNIOR LEAGUE BASEBALL - HOUSE LEAGUE
This year AHYAA will introduce a new level for Second Grade players only (the new Juniors level). This continuing level will introduce players to pitching in a modified, controlled game experience. Focus will be to continue to teach fundamentals, and introduce players to the proper training and technique for pitching. It is expected that the games will be fun, action packed, and fast moving. The season will end with a Double-Header Day scheduled at Melas Park!
Teams are formed geographically, via a draft conducted by the League and Division Representatives. Players will be distributed as equally as possible based on evaluations. An evaluation day will be held in early spring, details will be sent out in early March to all registered participants.
This is a modified coach-pitch league where all parents are asked to participate in some manner (Coaching, coordinating team activities, field set-up, umpiring, etc...). We do not keep score or team records in this league. Games are intended to be fun for all players, no matter what their talent level, and should build a foundation for all kids moving up to the Minors League, with the ability to understand the basics of baseball.
2019 Bat Rule: Players may use any wood bat. The barrel size of any metal or composite bat may not exceed 2¼ inches in diameter, and must be imprinted with the words “Approved for Little League” or words substantially similar thereto. Bats stamped with “USABat” will be allowed, but barrel size cannot exceed 2 5/8 inches. Wood bats or bats with 2¼ inch barrels are STRONGLY RECOMENDED for this age group.
Registration deadline is March 1, 2019 any sign-ups after this date are subject to being placed on a waiting list and are not guaranteed placement on a team.
