The AHYAA is pleased to announce a new opportunity offering the first season of House All-Star Part Time Travel Baseball program (N60) for 2017. Each Arlington Heights team will be a member of the Northern Illinois All-Star League (NIASL), and play in one tournament Memorial Day weekend. The NIASL is a competitive, part-time travel baseball league for house players only that features teams from various northern Illinois communities. We envision entering team(s) at the 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U and 14U age levels. This program is being offered as an opportunity for House Baseball Players to play an additional 10-12 game schedule, in a competitive league.

An informational meeting, as well as tryouts will be held in mid-January. Confirmation of teams at each age level is based on interest and turn out.

WHAT is Part-Time Travel (N60) Baseball?

The Part-Time Travel (N60) Baseball program was designed to provide in-house players the opportunity to experience travel baseball, on a part time basis.

This program is perfect for those players interested in playing more competitive baseball, in addition to the AHYAA in-house baseball league. It provides an opportunity for the player to play scheduled games against other communities with competitive programs in Lake, Cook, and McHenry Counties.

WHEN are games played?

From the beginning of April, through mid-June, travel players will play 8 to 12 travel-level baseball regular games, plus one tournament over the Memorial Day Weekend, in addition to their regular in-house games with AHYAA. All travel games will be played on Fridays and Sundays, with the potential for double-headers.  The House All-Star games will not interfere with any AHYAA in-house games.

Travel players will be expected to practice an additional 1-2 days a week, on top of any practices they may have with their in-house teams, if applicable. (NOTE: in-house games take priority over any travel games and practices).

HOW are teams selected?

AHYAA will hold an one-day try-out in early February for each participating age group.  In addition to the try-out results, player evaluations from the previous season will be reviewed.

WILL the House All-Star Team replace the Post Season Travel Teams?

No.  These are two separate programs that AHYAA will be participating in.  Both programs will conduct try-outs whereby players will have to compete and earn a spot on each respective team.

What is the cost?

The estimated cost for participating in the Part-Time Travel (N60) Baseball program is $300 per player. This cost includes all scheduled games, umpire fees, game supplies, tournament fees, and travel uniforms. (Note: cost of program is in addition to AHYAA in-house league fees).
